CIB (Corporate & Investment Banking) provides financial services to large-scale global financial institutions; governments; and very large corporations. CIB provides (i) commercial banking activity such as short- to long-term loans, cash management services for enterprise-level customers, (ii) capital raising activities for enterprises by way of either public or private equity placements (either debt or equity securities), and (iii) providing advisory services to customers for M&A, debt or equity securities, or other very large financial transactions. CIB serves the purpose of being the primary facilitator of major financial transactions and provides expertise in connecting a customer’s needs for capital to lenders who may have capital to lend to customers. Therefore, CIB is an extremely important driver of economic development by providing capital for businesses (both new and existing) and by providing expert knowledge for enterprises that require assistance in making large-scale financial decisions.
