Robotic thyroid surgery, also called robotic thyroidectomy, is an advanced technique in which the surgeon controls specialised robotic instruments to remove part or all of the thyroid gland. Depending on the approach, access may be created through the underarm or another area instead of a conventional incision at the front of the neck. The robotic system does not perform the operation independently. The surgeon remains in control throughout the procedure. Robotic technology may provide magnified visualisation and precise instrument movement around delicate anatomical structures.
