Devprayag is one of the Panch Prayag located in Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Panch Prayag consists of five sacred confluence including Vishnuprayag, Nandaprayag, Karanprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag, that incline or get merged at five different places to make the river of heaven “Ganga”. As devprayag is the fifth and last confluence it is considered as the origin of river Ganga where river Alaknada and river Bhagirathi meet. Legends hold that the trinity of Lord Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh is the protector of the confluence.
